Important Note: Charan Sparsh (Holy Touch)

Charan Sparsh is the deeply revered ritual of touching the holy base of Mount Kailash at approximately 5,475 ( 18300ft ) altitude. While this sacred practice has been officially restricted by Chinese authorities, we make every effort to facilitate this once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience for our yatris.

After completing the first day's parikrama and reaching Dirapuk, those who wish to attempt Charan Sparsh can proceed with our expert Charan Sparsh guide. The trek is approximately 5-6 km both ways from Dirapuk and requires good physical fitness and acclimatization.

Please note:

  • This is subject to local permissions and ground conditions

  • Weather conditions must be favorable for the trek

  • Our experienced Charan Sparsh specialist guide will accompany the group

  • Attempt only if you feel physically prepared at high altitude

  • The trek is optional and depends on individual fitness levels and weather conditions

  • Any extra costs applicable for Charan Sparsh will be shared only among yatris who participate in this trek, not by the entire group

  • If you are not doing the Parikrama and staying at Darchen or Purang (Taklakot), CNY 100 per person per day will be applicable for accommodation .
  • During the Parikrama, if emergency evacuation is required or you choose to return by car from Diraphuk to Darchen or Zuthulphuk to Darchen, an additional CNY 500 per person will be applicable.
  • For Helicopter Package (Ex-Lucknow): If for any reason you need to return to Purang (Taklakot) separately from the group, CNY 250 per person will be applicable for transport arrangements.
